Macitentan Use in an Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis Clinical Study The AC-055B201/MUSIC study is a Phase II study, comparing one dose of ACT-064922 (macitentan) 10 mg with placebo in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The main study objective is to demonstrate that macitentan positively affects the forced vital capacity (FVC) in comparison with placebo in patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The secondary objectives are to evaluate the effect of macitentan on the time to disease worsening or death in patients with IPF, and to evaluate the benefit/risk profile of macitentan in the treatment of patients with IPF.

Satavaptan in the Prevention of Ascites Recurrence in Patients With Ascites Due to Cirrhosis of the Liver Primary To evaluate the efficacy of satavaptan on top of diuretic drugs in reducing the recurrence of ascites. Secondary To evaluate the tolerability and safety of satavaptan on top of diuretic drugs over a 52-week treatment period in participants with cirrhosis of the liver and recurrent ascites. Evaluation of Safety and Efficacy of AVE5530 as add-on to Ongoing High Doses of Statins in Patients With Primary Severe Hypercholesterolemia The present study is assessing the efficacy and safety of AVE5530 (25 mg and 50 mg) in add-on to ongoing treatment with high doses of statin in a double-blind manner in comparison with placebo, in the management of patients with severe primary hypercholesterolemia considered as inadequately controlled despite their ongoing statin treatment. The main objective is to evaluate the effects of the association AVE5530+statin on LDL-C level reduction after 12 weeks of treatment. The effects of AVE5530 on other lipid parameters will be assessed as secondary objectives.

The Efficacy, Safety and Tolerability of E2007 in Levodopa Treated Parkinson's Disease Patients With Motor Fluctuations Patients will be randomised to receive either placebo or the study drug for a period of 30 weeks, in addition to their standard Parkinsonian medications. During the first 8 weeks, the patient's levodopa doses may be adjusted if necessary by the investigator. For the remainder of the 22 weeks, all medications should be kept stable. Patients will be required to attend the clinic twice during the screening period and then a further 8 times during the treatment period. They will be required to complete home diaries where they will record their motor function. In addition, their doctor will assess their Parkinson's disease during the clinic visits. There will also be blood draws for safety and pharmacokinetic and pharmacogenomics evaluation. Following the treatment and assessment period, they will return to the clinic one month later for follow up.
